The oldest railway station in Prague has recently been discussed mostly in connection with its closure and this is an opportunity to see the lounge with its beamed ceiling and majestic fireplace created in the 1870s for Emperor Franz Joseph I and later adapted for the needs of the first Czech President T. G. Masaryk, who departed from here on his journeys with his parlour coach. Such a pleasant waiting room would take the sting out of any delay.
