Address: Pikrtova 1737/1A, Praha 4
Architects: Vladimír Krátký (building), Roman Vrtiška (interior)
One of the largest office buildings in Prague was finished last year and has become a dominant feature of the Pankrác business district, thanks to its location and its 50 meter height. The Enterprise Office Center stands between the Gemini building and Prague’s main highway from which it is divided by a monumental sound-barrier wall. Architect Vladimír Krátký designed an impressive building with a V-shaped ground plan, composed of two interconnected wings, the higher of which has a fluid convex shape along the side of the highway. AVAST Software takes up seven floors of the building which are connected by a centrally located stairway. The interior design by Vrtiška-Žák architecture studio was inspired by the offices of high-tech corporations in Sillicon Valley. The whole seventh floor is a relaxation zone with a pool table, foosball table, Ping-Pong tables, and also has a quiet area with hammocks. There is also a gym and a playroom for children and the employees can also go to a company cafe and canteen.
This year, the building was listed among the top 100 best administrative buildings in the world by the jury of MIPIM, the world’s leading property market in Cannes. In line with today’s requirements, the building is environmentally-friendly and has received the prestigious BREEAM Excellent certificate.
