The first spherical compressive gas holder in the Czech Lands was built in 1932 to help the gasworks in Michle to provide gas to growing industries in Libeň, Karlín, Holešovice and Vysočany. During World War II however a projectile exploded in the gas holder and after a comprehensive reconstruction it has not returned to its original function. The unique technical construction is now used to test the aerodynamic features of planes and their parts. You should definitely not miss this cultural-technical monument during your trip to Libeň.
